I would like to do this memorial in memory of my wonderful mum who was very strong through all her
treatment in trying to get rid of her cancer, my mum had two daughters me and my sister Sarah who
she adored very much. My mum was a single parent and worked as an office clerk to bring in money to
pay the bills and also feed us unfortunately she was made redundant although she was upset and
worried about how she would manage the bills she always put on a brave face for us, then in 2005 our
world fell to pieces she was diagnosed with cancer she had a lump on her foot and when this was
removed it was discovered that it was cancerous she went on to having more treatment this included
having her toes amputated but this did not deter her from having a night out she would call her
friend up and say come on we are having fun so she did she went out on her crutches and danced the
night away on them she was very courageous, she then found out a few days after this that the cancer
had actually spread and she would have to have her foot amputated she still smiled we helped her and
tried to stay strong but it came to blows when she was admitted into a hospice and we were taken
into a quiet room me then 13 years and my sister then 10 years and we was told she would never pull
through and she only had days to live, oh mum our world fell apart from that day my heart was truly
broken I didn’t know what to say only is there no way of getting a healer in to help as silly as
it sounds now it was the only way I could help my mum.
I tried to do the best I could when she was alive trying to fight the cancer I slept on the sofa
cause she couldn’t get upstairs to bed so her bed was brought down to the living room and I stayed
sleeping there night in night out in case she needed me to help her.
My mum was an inspiration to both me and my sister and also all our friends they adored her and am
convinced they only came round to call for us so that they could see my mum.
Time has gone by now and things have very much changed my mum now has 3 grandsons and a
granddaughter Joshua, Jordan, Darren and Emma and I know that she will be up there looking down on
each and every one of them.

everyone that you knew loved you through and through,
its been so long since we last saw you,
but we keep on fighting through the days without you,
When you was suddenly taken from us days and nights seemed very long,
I know for sure that one day,
we will and shall meet again,
until that day we will keep strong for you my mum you were my best friend.
